This coming weekend the ninth edition of the 10/5 Milles Ciutat de Maó will be held with a forecast of reaching 250 entries in this demanding sporting challenge measured in miles that runs through the historical maritime heritage of the port of Mahón When there are still a few days left to close registrations, there are almost 200 participants, most of whom are eligible for the long route of the test, starting from the La Mola Fortress and arriving at the Maritime Station This coming weekend the ninth edition of the 10/5 Milles Ciutat de Maó will be held with a forecast of reaching 250 entries in this demanding sporting challenge measured in miles that runs through the historical maritime heritage of the port of Mahón. The 10-mile test starts from the hornabeque of the La Mola Fortress while the 5-mile test starts from the Cala Llonga urbanization. Among the registered runners with the most options to win will once again be Alex Vidal, winner of the 2021 and 2023 edition, or María Pallicer from Ferrara, who we remember has won seven of the nine editions.

One of the important new features for this new edition is that the start of the runners is delayed at 6:30 p.m. so as not to harm the participants when they have to face summer temperatures. What does not change is the trophy that the winner takes, a batch of 10 and 5 kilos of DOP Mahón Menorca cheese, respectively, or the two euros that are paid per participant to the Balearic Association against Cancer, maintaining the supportive of the test. Also in the field of sustainability, with the collection of used batteries that the runners contribute each year or the recyclable packaging that is used in the refreshment stations.

The race is organized by Unisport Consulting and is sponsored by the Fundació Foment del Turisme.
