Press Conference Presentation

A new edition of the La Mola fortress was presented today at a press conference 10/5 Miles Ciutat de Maó , a race through the historical and natural heritage of the Port of Maó that has been organized for seven years Unisport Consulting with the sponsorship of Tourism Promotion Foundation . A special test and different from any of those that take place in the sports calendar that is measured in miles and that combines tracks of great beauty by the sea, with the privileged passage through unique spaces such as the Fortress of La Mola , the Naval Base or the Pinto Island, among others. The presentation event was attended by a wide range of authorities and sponsors

The main novelty of this year is the change of start time of the event that has been delayed by one hour compared to all other editions in order to avoid the strongest hours of sun exposure. “This was a request that some participants had sent us, taking into account that between 12 and 16 hours are the most solar radiation and therefore we believe that starting at 18.00 we will make the race more enjoyable for all participants” explain Manuel Hernández , Race Director. There is also one change with respect to the delivery of bibs that until now had been made at the Maritime Station and that in this seventh edition, is moved to the mall Decathlon of the Industrial Estate of Maó, which in turn has been responsible for designing and providing the race shirt and runner’s bag. To date, registrations have reached 142 people , although it is expected to exceed 200.

At the sporting level, the event will have no variations with the two routes, the 10 miles, with departure from the Fortress of La Mola and arrival at the Maritime Station on its longest slope, and the 5 miles with departure to Cala Llonga by short route. The organization will transfer all runners by bus from the Maritime Station to the starting line.

As has happened in the last two editions, a television team will record the test which will later be broadcast by Movistar 0, Teledeporte, and TV3 thanks to an agreement that Unisport Consulting has signed with the different channels.
