More than 300 years ago it was built a naval base in Menorca to meet the needs of the British navy, which is part of the Pinto Island. It is an artificial island, filled by the British in 1768 from an island, giving it its present form. Among other stories, more than fifteen ships were built there between 1786 and 1798.
